Self-Care Tips Before & After Egg Retrieval for Your Golden Eggs

Whether you're undergoing IVF, ICSI, or Oocyte Cryopreservation (Egg Freezing), taking care of your body can make a big difference in the quality and quantity of your eggs.

Pre- egg retrieval preparation for a strong eggs:

  • Get 7–8 hours of quality sleep each night (before 10 PM)
  • Eat a balanced diet rich in protein, leafy greens, and healthy fats like avocado, nuts, and olive oil
  • Stay hydrated to support optimal egg growth
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and smoking — all of which can negatively affect egg quality
  • Skip intense workouts, especially as you near your retrieval date
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully regarding stimulation and medication

Post-egg retrieval care for a smooth recovery:

  • Rest well for 1–2 days after the procedure
  • High protein diet, Less sugar food & beverage
  • Avoid sex and high-impact activities during the first week
  • Drink plenty of water and choose soft, easy-to-digest foods
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe pain, dizziness, or fever
